Privacy Policy

How ChatWme collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: 2026-06-09

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how ChatWme collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service. ChatWme is an AI-powered customer-service assistant for tattoo artists and studios.

This policy covers visitors to chatwme.co, artists who create an account, and the end-users who interact with an artist's chat widget.

Information we collect

We collect three categories of information:

  • Artist account information — your email address, name, and (when billing launches) payment details. Email and basic profile data are also received when you sign in with Google.
  • Widget content — the questions and answers you upload, custom prompts, your assistant’s name, and other configuration you provide to shape how your assistant responds.
  • End-user conversations — chat transcripts that visitors send through your widget, and lead-capture details (such as an email address) when you enable that feature.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to operate and provide the service, generate AI assistant responses from your configured content, communicate with you about your account, improve the reliability and quality of the service, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your end-users’ conversation data.

Third-party services

ChatWme relies on a small set of trusted subprocessors to deliver the service. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

  • Anthropic — Claude API, which generates assistant responses from your content.
  • Supabase — database and authentication.
  • Google — OAuth identity provider (email and basic profile) for artists who sign in with Google.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Resend — transactional email (e.g., account and notification emails).
  • Upstash — rate limiting.
  • Cloudflare — content delivery and DNS.

Data retention

We retain account and widget configuration for as long as your account is active. Conversation transcripts are retained to provide chat history and improve the service; you can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your associated data. Some records may be retained where required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information. You can delete your account and its associated data directly from your settings, or contact us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

Children

ChatWme is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Note: this threshold may need reconsideration for EU markets, where GDPR-K sets the age of consent for data processing at up to 16 in many member states. The operative age here is 13 (the US/COPPA default) until we expand into those markets.

Security

We protect data in transit with TLS and enforce row-level security in our database so each account can only access its own data. We never store credentials in plaintext. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

International data transfers

Some of our subprocessors (including Anthropic and Supabase) may process or store data in the United States or other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers. By using the service, you understand your information may be processed in countries other than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
